Questions people ask before trusting a tool site.
Are these tools really free?
Yes. There is no paid tier, no credit system, no watermark and no signup. The site is funded by a small number of banner ad slots placed below each tool, never over it.
Do my files get uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool processes your file on your own device using your browser's built-in APIs. Open the Network tab in developer tools and use any tool — you will not see a request carrying your content.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no server-imposed limit. The ceiling is your device's available memory, which is typically far higher than the 5–100 MB caps that upload-based competitors enforce.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no account system at all, because there is no server-side state to attach an account to.
Do the tools work offline?
Yes, after your first visit. A service worker caches the site shell and every pure-JavaScript tool. Tools that download a model or library on first use — Background Remover, OCR, and the PDF suite — need one online session before they work offline.
Is this GDPR compliant?
Local processing means your files are never transferred to us, so no data processing agreement is required for the tools themselves. Analytics and advertising cookies are a separate matter and are set on this site — the privacy policy covers which, and how to opt out.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, current and previous major versions, on desktop and mobile. A few tools depend on newer APIs — screen recording and WebGPU-accelerated background removal are desktop Chrome and Edge first.
How is this different from iLovePDF or Smallpdf?
Those services upload your document to their servers, process it there, and delete it on a schedule you have to trust. These tools run the same operations in your browser using pdf-lib and PDF.js, so the document never transits a network at all.
